Okay, it might not be called Ironworks Gang when it’s done (even if it would be a nice nod to Steve Gillmor), but here it is, the inaugural podcast. In this week’s episode I was joined by ??Tom Wilkinson??, the soon-to-be-famous movie writer/director, and ??Darin Pesnell??, soon-to-be-famous pastor. The model is this: get a bunch of smart people that I like to talk to on a “free conference call”:http://freeconferencecall.com/, gab about stuff that’s interesting to us for an hour, and call it a podcast. Here’s this week’s topics:
* “Open Secrets”:http://www.newyorker.com/printables/fact/070108fa_fact by ??Malcolm Gladwell??
* the “iPhone”:http://www.apple.com/iphone
* the upcoming “IAM conference”:http://iamny.org/
* “Wal-Mart Puts Some Muscle Behind Power-Sipping Bulbs”:http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/02/business/02bulb.html?ex=1325394000&en=7cdfdd70524b7590&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss (if that doesn’t work you can “read it here”:http://www.wkkf.org/default.aspx?tabid=94&CID=294&ItemID=5000466&NID=85&LanguageID=0)
Enjoy, let us know what you think, and leave a comment if you want to be on the next one! Oh, and special thanks to “Vessel”:http://brinkofski.com/vessel/ for use of their music.

music intro and everything.
May i suggest using Skype (http://www.skype.com) or Gizmo (http://www.gizmoproject.com/) for better sound quality. You sound extremely tinny, and your voice drops out a couple of times to the ‘wtf did he just say?’ levels.
Personally, I’m a fan of Skype and 2.5 lets you do up to 10 people in a conference call (for free).
Sweet. Can I download it next time instead of have it stream, or might that give you bandwidth probs?
@Mike: yeah, thanks for the reminder to thank the guys from Vessel.
I’d thought about Skype, but I’m not sure that everyone I’d invite on would be savvy enough to use a computer-based VOIP solution. You’re right about the quality, though, it really needs some work. Next time I’ll try a headset and see if it’s any better.
@Matt: good point, I’ll add download links; you can also subscribe at http://kennsarah.net/podcast/feed/.
Cool! I guess.
FYI, a competition was held for a master plan of the WTC site, which Libeskind won. A master plan doesn’t determine the design or designers of the individual parts, but simply sets the framework. In other words, Libeskind was never meant to design individual buildings (though he thought he should). This link lists the architects for each of the new buildings:

Scott, thanks. I went back and read the Wikipedia article about Liebeskind:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Libeskind
It also provides a bit more detail on how the design competition morphed into the current plan. Apparently, much of what Libeskind did was set aside in the final result.
LOL… after hearing the Vessel intro, and then hearing scrap talk, th efirst thing I thought was “DARIN! WHY IS YOUR HEAD SO BIIIIIIG?… I DUNNO MAUUM!”
BWoooohahahaha… ok, now I’m gonna listen to the whole thing.
It started slow and got better. I think you need some random sound effects… a fart here, some slide whistles… like when Tommy says “There are couch wii’ers, now!”… maybe stop talking and play the sounds of a babbling brook…
Actually “couch wii’ers” made me laugh cause I thought of a group of 5 year old boys playing *cough* “swords” *cough* onto the sofa…
In the immortal words of Egon Spengler… “Don’t cross the streams.”
Hey, it was cool to just listen to you guys talk. I miss you peeps.
Jai
Oh, my goodness…does this make me miss Friday nights at the ‘ol Poley house…..
Any chance of a reunion in Nebraska, say before 2010? You guys could bring all your kids out, and we could reminisce together, and praise God for His goodness to all of us.
Hey, I am up for it….lol
Hey, where is the next one?
I’d like some more, please.
