/me shrugs

Netscape, while built on Gecko and Mozilla, sucked. it was much slower, and riddled with advertisements. We already ditched netscape where I work, and installed mozilla. Why? because it was always more current, and always the better choice.

This probably won't change much. People will still hack on it, and it will still continue to improve. Its one of the advantages of open source software. The main backer/developer on it can get hit by a bus, and the project will still continue, is the community wants it to.

This economy is just being flushed down the toilet... I think I need to learn new skills... Like quilt making or something entirely unrelated to computers.

Ugh. Poor Netscape people, and tehy were making such good progress with their new browsers... ' course Netscape 4 was the Son of Mordor...

The worst field anyone could go into at this point is a computer related field. The market is so flooded with people that were promised hi-paying, secure jobs. Most of these people don't even truly love the field, the just got into it because they didn't know what to do in college and it seemed like a good idea.

Now, with the tech jobs going over sees, its only going to get worse here in the US. Around my area there are 2 extremes. Really high paying jobs that want years of experience and management experience, and on the other end of things. Low paying, almost internships, that are looking for highschool or other people that will/can except lower pay.

I really don't see much relief for this problem int he near future ...
