So I expressed to my friend Tom what a dilemma it was for me to come up with an opener to our Christmas letter. I mean, how do you start a letter that describes one whole year of your life into three or four tiny paragraphs–especially when one of those paragraphs is sure to be about getting married?! Tom’s reply, “How about: Merry Christmas.” Thanks, Tom.
Well, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone. We hope that this year has been at least half as good for you as it has been for us. Let’s see, perhaps a quick timeline is in order to get everyone on the same page on the life of Ken & Sarah Walker:
November, 2001: Ken proposes to Sarah and gets a guitar in his birthday in return–how’s that for a sweet deal?
December, 2001: Wedding planning begins. Sarah shows off ring to relatives.
January, 2002: Ken & Sarah begin to plan wedding from 700 miles away. School starts, pressure builds.
February, 2002: Ken goes to OH to visit Sarah for a conference about marriage on the Song of Solomon, and to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Sarah’s wedding shower.
March, 2002: Sarah finishes her last quarter at Cedarville. Dance lessons. Wedding planning kicks into high gear. Ken struggles with Calculus III.
April, 2002: Marriage counseling with Todd & Karin Nathan. Apartment hunting.
May, 2002: Ken takes finals. Great mathematicians of old spin in their graves.
June, 2002: Ken, Sarah, and Posegate clan go back to Ohio for Sarah’s graduation. Absolutely last minute wedding details come together. Ken’s bachelor party. Ken & Sarah get married. Honeymoon in Nevis and see monkeys, cockroaches, and snooty rich people. Return home and open lots of gifts (thanks everybody!).
July, 2002: Get back in the swing of things. Ken continues work at D&B, Sarah at Running S Equine Veterinary Hospital.
August, 2002: Ken & Sarah vacation in North Carolina!
September, 2002: Ken goes back to school, struggles with Probability & Statistics.
October, 2002: Ken finds out his graduation is within grasp–May 2003!
November, 2002: Thansgiving at Jaime’s.
Whew!
In short, Sarah and I have been doing well. We’re enjoying being married and discovering each other’s personalities and quirks–apparently we have a lot of them.
We’re also getting used to living together and managing a home together. Turns out that I’m pretty good at folding the laundry, and Sarah can use a power drill. Who knew? No pets yet aside from our weird birds, but we’ll see what the new year brings.
D&B has been a great learning experience for me, and they’ve been very gracious to pay my tuition this year. Sarah enjoys her work at Running S, and is looking forward to what the future might bring in the veterinary profession.
We both hope that you are well and are enjoying your holiday season. In case you’ve lost track of us for all of our moving around recently, here’s our email address: kennsarah@kennsarah.net. Feel free to drop us a line sometime! In the meantime, take care.
God bless,

Ken & Sarah Walker

If you haven’t guessed already, it’s been a while since I’ve had time to check the site, but then on the other hand, you haven’t been posting enough to keep me constantly coming back for more – I guess it goes both ways. Anywho, thanks for the nice plug at the beginning there and for the past couple weeks of getting to hang out; it’s been great getting to remedy the largest regret I had in leaving for Boston and getting a second chance. See you tomorrow.
